.bangs.

and oh, yeah. i got some bangs last week, guys!

for those of you who noticed in my last post, good on ya! the shock is finally starting to settle and i am very much enjoying them. the hubby also likes them and i feel a lot more sassy with 'em. i guess at the very least, if they are good for anything, tickling my little fella's nose with them sure has been a favourite activity around these parts!
and please excuse the blurry pictures. husband is away at the moment and taking photos of yourself is hard. like ridiculously hard.

.product review: luxe Box from loose button.

Today I wanted to share this super cool product "club" of sorts called Loose Button
It's this cool company that Quarterly [that's 4 x a year people!] ships a pretty box [perfectly named The Luxe Box] plump full of beauty products right to your door for you to keep and try out [you can also choose Annual or Semi-annual options]. What a fun treat!

I just received my first luxe box and was immediately impressed with the products that they sent me. First of all, in my opinion, you can usually tell quality by the packing....and I have to report that I was very impressed! My items came all wrapped up in this gorgeous white box, with each product wrapped in cloth! CLOTH! Seriously, because of the packaging alone, I immediately thought what a cute gift this would be to send someone for the year......
I was also impressed with the actual products inside. Some are small tester sized, but most [and I'm not kidding here] are full to medium sized products! And these aren't your crap o' products. Nope, they are from some major brand names.....Moroccan Oil, Benefit, Stila, Cargo, Lancome, Philosophy, KMS, Laura Mercier, and Purminerals just to name a few! I also thought it was a very cool way to try out products that I've never heard of before, like the black skinny liquid eyeliner I received in my box by Eyeko.
You can watch a little video review I did showcasing each individual product below :)

**Also in my fall luxe box along with the full sized Eyeko liquid eyeliner, was a full sized China Glaze Nail polish, Benefit Stay Don't Stray eye primer, a Bamboo exfoliating pad, Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, Vichy Dark Spot Corrector lotion samples and Madonna Truth or Dare perfume.

The luxe box costs $24 per season [so 4 times a year, as you get 4 luxe boxes a year], which includes all the products and shipping costs. Personally I think this is a great deal, because if I added up the full sized products alone, it would have cost me approx. $40!

So how do you get your hands on this? Well, first you need to request an invitation. You can do that by singing up here [trust me, it doesn't take very long to receive the invite]. Then you simply walk through all the steps and viola! Come winter [which is the next available seasonal box], your Luxe Box will be on it's way to your front door! What a fun treat! And just what this pregnant momma needed!

*Originally only offered to Canadian gals, I am happy to report that you US girls can sign up now too!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

.how to: my wavy natural curls.

Since I have really long straight hair I've been asked time and time again how I get my natural-looking wavy hair curls and I always answer the exact same way, "Oh geez, it's ridiculously easy" and I'm not lying. It really is.
So here is my embarrassingly simple way I get my hair to have the look of those somewhat beachy, natural-looking soft waves that everyone seems to be sporting these days. An easy way to look polished without a lot of fuss.
Also, this is basically the base curls I sport before attempting any other hair style, so nail this down and you'll be laughing your way to hair heaven. Seriously, I have a million other hair styles I can show you after you get some of these curls.
So to my friend Morgan [who has been asking me forever] and although the video quality isn't great, this is for you. xo

.How to Work a Summer Silk Hair Scarf.

[all headbands shown above are via topshop]
Like I mentioned on monday, I wanted to show you my newest and [fast becoming] favorite way to style my hair. It's messy, easy and completely unfussy, which in my opinion is just the way summer hair should be.
Here I've so expertly modelled [heavy note of sarcasm] 4 totally different ways to work it this summer.
1. Long and Loose    2. Relaxed and Up    3. Braided and Down    4. Top-knotted and Messy
Really, just a touch of everything.
Hope it inspires you to try it out.

What's your favorite look or way to style it?

.Hair YES.

So this is the NEW do.
Ya like it??
Ya, me too. And I'm also really liking my model pose's. And the toilet paper roll in the background! Enjoy!
Now, I know I haven't strayed far from my comfort zone here, but the hubby loves his wife very blonde (and I don't mean the ditzy "So, Like umm....." type, but the white, golden, sun-streaked blonde type) and after practically begging me on his hands and knees (maybe a little of an exaggeration, but still....) to keep it that way, I decided to be a good wife and go with the au-natural (or au-natural with very light streaks) that he was asking for. Your welcome hubby.
Also I was trying out a new stylist (who, by the way, is a pretty cute (and straight) male named Roddie -Yum, Yum.) and was giving him a little test run. Meaning I couldn't go to crazy this time around.
In the end, these are the results:
And I'm pretty darn happy.
I'm loving the color. Ash-blonde. Just what I was wanting.
And the cut is pretty fabulous, although still long, the layers give it a fresh lift.
I got lotsa volume now Baby!
And because I'm sure some of you are wondering where the big difference is (I know it's subtle, but it's there), I took a before shot to compare. See the difference?

OLD HAIR = Split-ends and Roots. Yuck.

NEW HAIR = Fresh, No roots + No split-ends. Happy.
Not the way, I normally style it, but I can see good things coming from it.
We'll call this is my 'New Job' hair.
Because I start on Monday.....ekk...

.Hair NOT.

Hi Friends.
This mop of hair on my head is having a rough day today. or rather... a hard week. {maybe even a month}
I'm in NEED people.
What on earth should I do...
some bangs? some color? some layers?...
some something to help my long, split-ended strands out.
I'm still trying to grow it out {extremely} long {but not that sicko, weird braided lady long - you know what I'm talking about?} However, it's in this phase where is just hangs there. So what to do?
What is going to bring my sad little tresses back to life?
any ideas?
Do I do these bangs?
All pictures found on pinterest.
Or go for the Ombre Look?
Keep my Natural look?
Maybe go a bit blonder for spring?

Or do I go Brunette (well, this may be more Ombre)?
HELP.
Ohh and I'm going tomorrow at noon to take care of my issues......cross your fingers it turns out!
