Last week I had a pretty hard week at work. It was technically my last couple days in the office before a little vacation time and then maternity leave and well, it was busy, busy, busy. That, and the combo of really starting to feel the pains of pregnancy, I thought I should remind myself of some things that are currently making me happy.

husband's breakfast special. greek yog + strawberries + blueberries + raw almonds + maple syrup. yum.

homemade apple pie, made from delicious apples from our apple tree [and my mom and my dad's too].

while i'm not one to show you the typical bare belly shot, having our hot tub running hot again [we drained it for the summer & while i am pregnant] has certainly been a pleasure. even if i still can't go in all the way...

my favorite soup [zuppa toscana] boiling on the stove.

knowing that we are going to be meeting this little person of ours any day now

My newest and very pretty coffee table book

I'm off travelling for a few days for work. And I'm already missing my bed and my husband, but I'm sure I'll survive ;)

There's just something about travelling by yourself when your pregnant that makes me feel needy.

So in an effort to suck it up and change my mood around, here's six things that are currenltly making me pretty darn happy.

new boots from my lover. he said they will help make me look more funky.

a big bag of sour soothers. the original kind.

beautiful cakes from the 'enjoy centre's' prairie bakery.

fresh flowers from my hubby that keep hanging on weeks later.

Wednesday's can be a bore, so here are some things that have made me happy so far this week.

{six} Happy Things

one. finding {and wearing} my grandma marion's vintage {and perfect} croc heels. in love.

two. the prairie bistro's salad bar {+soup + sandwich}

three. learning some camera skills, like aperture.

check this out. gorilla in focus, flowers out. field of depth, oh yes.

four. new found love of coconut water. super healthy and kinda tasty, in a funky way.

five. macaroons. enough said.

six. gorgeous flowers {hydrangea's, one of my favs!} from my magnificent hubby after a particularly bad day. what a doll.

{five} Happy things on my mind this week:

Excited for Our new Paint and Wallpaper {for our bedroom}

Old, Classic movies for a quiet evening in {yes, husband will be watching at least one of these!}

Completing my office's photo-wall
{almost there....just need to add some pictures of people I actually know!! haha}

Carving and decorating some pumpkins for Halloween night {leaning towards these bad boys}

Husband and I don't have a ton of plans this weekend. We're hoping to complete a couple things around the house, like painting and wallpapering our bedroom {then the reveal very soon!}, stringing our patio lights over the hot tub {bought these beauties awhile ago and they finally arrived!}, and organizing my make-up drawer {photos are coming next week!}.

I also plan on baking some scary treats for friends and family for Halloween.....so fun! And carving the crap outta some pumpkins!

One morning I was casually browsing the trusty old web, and came across this lovely blog, Bliss.

She not only had beautiful pictures and an organic feel about her blog, but she did this series that totally inspired me to do the same. It's called 'I heart Monday'. And basically it's lists of her current favorite things {or just things that make her happy}. And she so cleverly titles each, "I heart.....".
{Cupcakes and Cashmere does a version of this called Five Things, as well as my friend Nik who calls hers Super 6}.

So I am borrowing from all of these blogs, and starting my own. Hope they don't mind ;)
